How we hire

Every Boundev engineer is vetted before their first task.

We accept roughly 5% of applicants. Here's exactly what we look for and how we evaluate it.

01
Portfolio & GitHub review

We review production codebases, recent PRs, and contribution history. We look for AI/ML work specifically — RAG, agents, evals, embedding pipelines. Only engineers with clear production AI experience advance.

02
Technical assessment

A 4-hour take-home covering system design, LLM prompt engineering, and a real-world RAG or agent task. We care about production reasoning — not just syntax. Roughly 15% of applicants pass this stage.

03
Live engineering interview

90-minute session with a senior Boundev engineer. Live coding, architecture discussion, eval design. We probe the things that matter on real client tasks: cost control, error handling, eval-first development.

04
Client-facing simulation

Candidates complete a mock scoping call and deliver a written technical scope doc. Engineers who can't explain their work clearly to a non-technical founder don't join the network.

05
Background & reference checks

We verify employment history and speak with past clients or colleagues. Candidates who join are re-evaluated quarterly based on client feedback, PR quality scores, and delivery metrics.
